Student Volunteers

IHC 2019 is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for student volunteers (SV), who are vital to the efficient operation and continued success of the conference each year. The student volunteer program is a chance for students to participate in the conference and interact closely with contributors, attendees, and your peers whilst assisting us in preparing and running the event.

The SV program helps more students attend IHC by covering conference fees, including access to coffe-breaks and the openning cocktail (but not travel or lodging expenses) in exchange for a fixed number of work hours (usually from 10 to 15) helping with the conference organization.

Sign up to be a Student Volunteer and help us make IHC 2019 a unique experience for all attendants!

How To Apply

To apply please fill in the application form.

Applicants can be undergraduate, Master’s, Ph.D. full- or part-time students, of computer science or related fields. No previous Student Volunteering experience is required to apply, but we are looking for people who are friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable.

CAs an SV, you are expected to:

  • Contribute to around 10-15 hours of volunteer work during the five days of the conference;
  • Be punctual and show up on time to your assigned tasks;
  • Attend an orientation session before the conference (to be scheduled);
  • Wear the SV badge (or t-shirt, if available) when you are on duty, so people can easily spot you. Be positive, friendly, enthusiastic and helpful.
